The self-produced, written, and arranged 14-track project marks the debut of a new imprint with vintage influence.
FT. LAUDERDALE, FL / MusicWire / Oct. 26, 2026 — Rooted In Power, the self-contained rap duo composed of Joshua Dunn (Tiffin, Ohio) and MrGrippz (Hollywood, Florida), has officially shattered the playbook. With zero warning and absolute creative confidence, the multi-hyphenate unit has surprise-released their debut studio album and parallel titled video, Side by Side.
“Side By Side” is a bold & infectious anthem of commitment, blending raw emotion with undeniable energy. This rough-edged love song captures the push & pull of loyalty & passion in a romantic relationship dynamic, delivered with an intensity that keeps listeners hooked. Co-produced by group members Joshua Dunn & MrGrippz, the track showcases a gritty yet polished sound that perfectly complements its heartfelt message. It’s a love song that doesn’t shy away from the struggles – making the triumph of sticking together feel all the more powerful.
Total Sonic Architecture
Unlike traditional contemporary releases anchored by rooms of co-writers and external producers, Side By Side represents an uncompromising level of artistic autonomy. Every track on the record was entirely written, produced, and arranged in-house by the duo. The result is a sonically seamless, deeply intentional body of work that flows flawlessly from micro-narratives into macro-philosophies, establishing a definitive sonic benchmark for the group.
The Unfolding Journey
While the complete audio experience is available to binge immediately, the visual narrative is just beginning. “Side by Side” marks the opening sequence of a heavily calculated, multi-video arc. The duo has pre-produced a continuous string of cinematic drops designed to systematically expand their visual universe as the era progresses.
