Adams Pool Solutions has resurfaced both pools at the Hayward Plunge, a 1936 indoor public pool in Memorial Park on Mission Boulevard in Hayward, California, for the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District. The company applied a Pebble Tec Commercial White Quartz finish to the main pool, which measures 109 feet by 58 feet 8 inches, and to the children’s pool, which measures 46 feet by 30 feet 5 inches and ranges from 1 foot to 2 feet 6 inches deep.
The Hayward Plunge is one of the oldest indoor public pools in the Bay Area. The district lists it as a historical building and as ADA accessible. In the fall of 2025 the Plunge closed for a $5 million renovation of the whole facility, with lap swim, lessons and aqua fitness moving to the Arroyo Swim Center on November 3, 2025. The district published a closure window of fall 2025 through fall 2026, with construction wrapping in October 2026. The district’s scope is broader than the resurfacing work, covering parking lot ADA access, electrical repairs, water pipe replacement, interior painting, and revisions to the diving boards and swim lanes.
The resurfacing began with shell preparation on an existing shell that was stained and carried a history of patch repairs. Adams Pool Solutions works with park districts, schools, cities and hospitality properties across the Bay Area, the Central Valley and Las Vegas. Maintaining a single consistent finish across a public pool of this size called for careful control, with the Pebble Tec Commercial White Quartz applied in 52 custom batches across both pools.

The project submittals went in on October 8, 2025, and the work was built to a written architect’s and structural engineer’s specification.
